MCIT Awards Program -- May 12 CLICK FOR LIST OF AWARD WINNERS
1024 Kil-a-Bytes wen
t 12-0 to qualify for the finals at Rose-Hulman. They showed good sportsmanship by giving their opponent time to fix a broken robot. Unfortunately, the opponent was then able to defeat 1024 and thereby prevent them from advancing to the nationals at this time. They were awarded the Motorola Quality Award for exemplary engineering and design.
Andres Alejos,
a senior and former A+ Computer Tech Support and Network+ student, was accepted into West Point Academy to study Cyber Security.
Ed Martin Auto Deale
r has agreed to sponsor the MCIT Car Club. A combination of AST Auto Service and Collision Repair students that visited Target Gannasi Racing and Andretti Autosport hosted by former MCIT students now working at both sites.
MCIT now has a Junior Chamber of Commerce
working in tandem with the Lawrence Chamber as mentors.
Civil Air Patrol
has been granted Training Flights by the national headquarters allowing MCIT students to fly CAP planes under the supervision of Air Force pilots.
MCIT female students met with Women in Engineering
students from IUPUI to continue the recruitment of Lawrence Township females into the engineering fields and courses at MCIT.
MCIT female PLTW students
were featured in the PLTW National Women in Engineering video filmed at MCIT.
MCIT JAG (Jobs for America’s Grads)
students dominate at the Regional Career Development Conference.
Two students were selected to attend the Molecular Medicine
in Action symposium hosted by the Herman B. Wells Center for Pediatric Research.
MCIT joined forces with the Indiana Health Industry Forum
(IHIF) to host the first annual Indiana High School Biotechnology Consortium Workshop. In May, student researchers will present their work at the annual IHIF Conference.
Twenty-five Biomed and Health Careers
students are preparing to compete at the HOSA state competition.
We have current and former Biomedical students
participating in a year long internship at Roche diagnostics.
IUPUI's neuroscience department
, Roche diagnostics, Rehab Indy prosthetics, and Ortho Indy orthopedics are all scheduled to do seminars with our students this semester.
National Technical Honors Society
inducted 54 new students.
Culinary Arts State Champions
MCIT was awarded
three new Subaru Outbacks and two new Volkswagen Passats.
MCIT Car Club
visited the Andretti Race Team and Chip Ganassi Race Team.
