Mark Pardue is the MSD of Lawrence Township Family Liaison for Prevention. He works with students and families to prevent drug and alcohol abuse in our student population.
During this time of transition and uncertainty, it is our hope to give students the tools to avoid destructive coping strategies such as drugs, vaping, or alcohol use to manage stress. Mr. Pardue is available to provide you and your family with as many resources as possible to help you support your student in making healthy choices.
Over the last few weeks we have covered how to talk to your student about drugs, how to form a family agreement, and what to do when you suspect or know your student is using drugs or alcohol. This is all important information, but should you still talk to your student before you suspect them of using or before there is an incident. Absolutely! The small conversations you have with your student make a huge difference. Read the following article for more tips on how these small every day conversations about drugs and alcohol can make a big impact.
